Lydia collaborated with choreographer Jemma Bicknell and sound designer Michele Panegrossi on brand new site-responsive production 'The Emporium of Tiny Voices'.
Utilising wireless technology audience members were invited to enjoy a personal shopping experience at Bermondsey Fayre gift and clothing shop in central London. As they arrived for their one-on-one experience, visitors were fitted with wireless headphones and shown into the shop, however instead of being shown around by the personal shoppers, they heard the voices of the objects describing their hopes, dreams, future plans and past lives. Performance-related shopkeepers were transformed into universal, mass-produced drones as audience members got to hear the character and individuality of the products which wanted to come home with them, sharing touching stories and intimate secrets amongst the hub-bub of ordinary shoppers obliviously passing-by.
'The Emporium of Tiny Voices' was created for the Bermondsey Street Festival in September 2012.
