Lydia worked as Dance Production Officer at Akademi from March 2010 to October 2011. During this time she managed the organisation's professional dance productions, working closely alongside Akademi Director Mira Kaushik and a variety of choreographers from across various South Asian dance disciplines. Her responsibilities were wide ranging, from booking tours and managing budgets, to casting, providing dramaturgical support in the rehearsal room and overseeing stage management. During her time at Akademi Lydia personally managed 10 company repertoire productions including delivering an tour of 'Sufi:Zen' to 8 outdoor locations across the UK. She also staged performances in a variety of unusual locations, including the roof of the Queen Elizabeth Hall at the Southbank Centre, the corridors of the National Portrait Gallery and the foyer of the National Maritime Museum. Lydia also managed three different professional development programmes, supporting choreographers at various stages of their careers with advice, training and commission opportunities.
